About this activity

Drift down the world's longest river on a traditional sailboat as Cairo's minarets light up at dusk.

Details

The felucca — Egypt's traditional Nile sailboat — has carried people up and down this river for 4,000 years. This evening sail departs from the Corniche el-Nil as the afternoon heat softens into a golden dusk, offering Cairo's most cinematic skyline views from the water.

What's Included

  • 1.5-hour felucca sail (17:30–19:00)
  • Egyptian tea and hibiscus juice (karkadeh)
  • Views of Cairo Tower and Zamalek island
  • Knowledgeable local boatman

Meeting Point

Corniche el-Nil at the Tahrir Bridge steps. Look for the Moon Valley Tours banner. There is no hotel pickup for this experience — taxis to the Corniche are plentiful and inexpensive from any central hotel.

Tips

  • Bring a light jacket — the Nile breeze cools quickly at sunset
  • Tip your boatman in EGP if you enjoy the experience
  • Best combined with a Khan el-Khalili visit earlier in the afternoon
